U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz recently met at the Pentagon to discuss Poland’s continued support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. Austin praised Poland’s key role in providing both short- and long-term security assistance to Ukraine, emphasizing the shared commitment to a free and sovereign Ukraine.
During the meeting, Austin highlighted Poland’s logistical and security support as essential to Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s ongoing aggression. Kosiniak-Kamysz also emphasized the strengthening relationship between the U.S. and Poland as they address evolving security challenges, including threats from Belarus.
Notably, the U.S. Army recently signed a $1.3 billion contract for the production of Javelin missiles, the largest order for these missiles to date. This demonstrates the ongoing support for Ukraine’s defense efforts.
