Turkish Deputy FM urges Gaza accountability, emphasizes OIC’s role

Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government for human rights violations and massacres in Gaza and Palestinian territories. Speaking at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers in Cameroon, Yilmaz emphasized the importance of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s plea for solidarity.

Yilmaz also addressed the protection of holy sites, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque, urging the OIC to remain steadfast in its mission. He highlighted the struggles of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkish minorities in Western Thrace, calling for support and reaffirmation of their rights.

During the meeting, Yilmaz discussed regional peace and stability, showing solidarity with Kashmiri people and engaging in bilateral talks. The CFM aims to address numerous issues and adopt the Yaounde Declaration, with Turkey hosting the 51st CFM in 2025.

Aside from diplomatic engagements, Yilmaz also participated in charitable events, showcasing Turkey’s humanitarian efforts in prosthetic donations and educational initiatives.
