Turkey neutralizes 65 PKK/YPG terrorists in week.

The Turkish National Defense Ministry announced that 65 PKK/YPG terrorists were “neutralized” in operations conducted in northern Iraq and Syria over the past week. This brings the total number of terrorists neutralized since the beginning of the year to 1,828, according to Rear Admiral Zeki Akturk, the ministry’s spokesman.

One PKK terrorist from northern Iraq surrendered to a border post in Habur, highlighting the success of the security forces in the region. The term “neutralize” is used by Turkish authorities to indicate that the terrorists have either surrendered, been killed, or captured.

The PKK, a designated terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU, has been responsible for over 40,000 deaths in its 40-year terror campaign against Turkey. The YPG, the PKK’s Syrian offshoot, has also been a source of instability in the region.

Additionally, Akturk reported that 394 individuals, including 15 members of terrorist groups, were apprehended while trying to cross the border illegally. The total number of people prevented from crossing the border this year has reached 72,082, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to maintain security along Turkey’s borders.
