US Secret Service to Receive Additional Military Support After Attempted Assassination of Trump
The US Secret Service will be provided with enhanced military support capabilities for presidential and vice presidential candidates in preparation for the upcoming election in November. This decision follows increased scrutiny of the agency following the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has instructed US Northern Command to plan and allocate additional support and resources to the Secret Service at various locations during the election period. The Pentagon spokesperson, Sabrina Singh, confirmed that the Department of Defense will provide logistics, transportation, and communications assistance to the Secret Service through the 2024 campaign season.
After the assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania, where the former president narrowly escaped death, the Secret Service admitted to security lapses and the resignation of Kimberly Cheatle, the agency’s director. Trump has praised the Secret Service agents who protected him and criticized Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden for their rhetoric.
Trump believes his survival was a divine intervention, reinforcing his mission to save America and the world.
