Manipur CM vows full peace in 6 months, firm on no resignation

In a recent interview, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed his commitment to restoring peace in the state within six months with the help of the Centre. He has appointed an emissary to hold talks with Kuki-zo and Meitei leaders to address the ethnic clashes that have claimed 226 lives. The Chief Minister, who remains largely mistrusted by the Kukis, attributed the origins of the violence to his crackdown on illegal drug trade and migration. He reiterated his stance against pro-Meitei militant outfits and rejected the demand for a separate administration in the state.

He remains steadfast in his commitment to protecting Manipur and its people, ruling out any intention of resigning.
