Farewell to a Transformative Leader: Maj Gen Elia Costa Faustino

Jonglei residents and colleagues bid farewell to Maj Gen Elia Costa Faustino as he steps down as Police Commissioner after a successful three-year tenure marked by significant improvements in security and unity within the police force.

During his time in Jonglei, Gen Faustino’s exceptional leadership led to a reduction in insecurity and a sense of unity among the officers. State Minister for Local Government and Law Enforcement Simon Hoth Dual commended Gen Faustino for his professionalism and integrity, stating, “He cooperated with the people of Jonglei and took government orders seriously.”

In his farewell speech, Gen Faustino expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception he received in Jonglei, describing the state as his second home. He emphasized the significance of the farewell as a symbol of national unity and cooperation.

Gen Faustino is now moving to his new role as Lakes State Police Commissioner, succeeding Maj Gen John Baak. His departure leaves behind a legacy of progress and dedication in service to the people of Jonglei.
