During a televised interview, Iranian ambassador Mojtaba Amani revealed that the Israeli regime was taken by surprise when Hezbollah retaliated with strikes on August 25. Amani emphasized that despite boasting about its intelligence capabilities, the Zionist regime failed to predict Hezbollah’s response and was unable to target any fighters of the Lebanese resistance group. This unexpected blow to Israel’s prestige left them confused and resorting to psychological warfare as a means of compensation for their weaknesses.
Hezbollah’s retaliatory strikes were in response to the assassination of senior commander Fuad Shukr, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on July 30. Following this, the Israeli regime attempted to assassinate Ismail Haniyeh, chief of the political bureau of Hamas, in Tehran.
Amani concluded that Hezbollah’s operation had accomplished its objective, leaving the Israelis bewildered and resorting to psychological warfare as their only means of response. This display of strength and unity by Hezbollah serves as a reminder of the ongoing tensions in the region.
