Former Ukrainian president advocates for Donbass, not Kursk— RT Russia & Former Soviet Union

Former Ukrainian president Pyotr Poroshenko is urging Kiev to urgently reinforce the frontline in the Donbass region, where fortifications and supplies are lacking. During a visit to Pokrovsk, Poroshenko emphasized the strategic importance of the town in determining the outcome of the conflict. He criticized the failure to build trenches and obstacles to stop Russian forces from advancing towards Pokrovsk.

Russian troops have made significant gains near the town, posing a threat to Ukrainian presence in the region. Poroshenko, who now heads the European Solidarity party, delivered drones and other supplies to Ukrainian troops in Pokrovsk. He called for a more unified government to address the escalating crisis.

Poroshenko’s tenure saw the outbreak of conflict in the Donbass following a US-backed coup in Kiev. Despite initial setbacks, he eventually helped secure the Minsk Agreement to de-escalate tensions, though Western allies later criticized the agreement as a stalling tactic against Russia.
