Last week, the Civil Defense Directorate’s specialist firefighting teams in Jordan responded to 318 separate fires across the Kingdom, resulting in property damage and injuries. The prompt response from the teams played a crucial role in containing the fires early, preventing further damage and saving lives.

One notable incident involved a fire in a clothes warehouse in Al-Masdar neighborhood, Amman, where one person experienced difficulty breathing. The fire was swiftly contained by the Central Amman fire brigade, while ambulance teams tended to the injured person.

In another incident in Irbid Governorate, firefighting personnel successfully extinguished a fire in a backyard yard belonging to a firm, without any injuries. Investigations into the cause of the fire were initiated.

The Public Security Directorate emphasized the importance of preventive measures to reduce fire incidents, including regular maintenance of electrical wires, proper storage techniques, and prompt reporting to the emergency number (911) when needed.
