Honoring the National Day of Fight against Terrorism remembers the tragic deaths of Iran’s former President Mohammad-Ali Rajaei and Prime Minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar in 1981. Killed in a bomb explosion by MKO terrorists, their sacrifice serves as a poignant reminder of the group’s terrorist nature. Kan’ani exposed the MKO’s history of violence against Iran, labeling them as “mercenaries of the US and Israel.” Responsible for state terrorism and assassinating Iranian nuclear scientists, the MKO’s actions have led to the deaths of 17,000 Iranians.
After failing to overthrow the Islamic Republic, the MKO turned to indiscriminate assassinations. Finding refuge in France, they continued their terrorist activities with Western support. Their alliance with Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq War highlighted their willingness to align with Iran’s enemies. Despite their violent past, the MKO has gained Western support post-removal from terrorist lists, operating freely in Albania.
