The jury in Clark County, Nevada found Robert Telles guilty of stabbing German to death outside his home after a critical article was published.
Clark County prosecutor Steve Wolfson emphasized that the verdict sends a clear message against attempts to silence or intimidate journalists. Telles, who denied the allegations, lost his re-election bid following German’s article describing misconduct within the department. Despite claiming a conspiracy, Telles was convicted and sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 20 years before parole eligibility.
