EU foreign ministers gather in Brussels to address pressing issues

EU Foreign Ministers to Discuss Ukraine, Gaza, and Venezuela with Turkish Foreign Minister

The European Union member states’ foreign ministers will gather in Brussels to discuss international issues such as Ukraine, Gaza, and Venezuela. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has been invited to the meeting after a five-year absence.

The Gymnich format meeting aims to exchange views on common strategies and develop unified views among member states. The meeting was originally planned to take place in Budapest but was moved to Brussels due to tensions between Hungary and the EU administration.

The agenda includes discussions on supporting Ukraine amid Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure, efforts for peace in the Middle East, and the results of Venezuela’s controversial elections. Fidan is expected to discuss Turkey-EU relations, cooperation on geopolitical issues, and the Cyprus issue with EU counterparts.

The invitation to Turkey signals the EU’s recognition of the need to improve relations amid global challenges. Stay tuned for updates on the meeting outcomes.
