The Ministry of National Defense is taking a stand against deepfake crimes, particularly those involving the synthesis of individuals’ faces to perpetrate humiliation, including cases concerning female soldiers. In response to the severity of these offenses, the Ministry stated its awareness and collaboration with police investigations during a recent briefing.

Moreover, they emphasized their commitment to protecting victims, implementing necessary measures for counseling, reporting, and prevention. The Ministry also highlighted ongoing efforts to educate and prevent such incidents in the future.

Recently, disturbing trends of deepfake videos, particularly those of female soldiers, have emerged online. Shockingly, Telegram chat rooms have been discovered explicitly focused on producing and circulating lewd deepfake videos using photographs of female soldiers.

This issue raises concerns about privacy and exploitation, highlighting the urgent need for stricter regulations and increased awareness to safeguard individuals from falling victim to such malicious activities in the digital realm.
