This response is in retaliation for the Israeli assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Baqeri highlighted the dire situation the Zionist regime is facing, leading them to engage in criminal acts in order to survive. He further mentioned the shift in American support for Israel due to its current critical state.
Additionally, the general emphasized Iran’s success in rejuvenating resistance against occupiers within the Islamic community. The assassination of Haniyeh, who was in Tehran for the Iranian president’s swearing-in ceremony, has prompted Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei to issue a warning of a severe response to the Israeli regime. Khamenei declared it as the Islamic Republic’s responsibility to avenge the blood of the Palestinian resistance leader.
