Monsoon Weather Alert in Sindh: CM Murad Ali Shah Takes Action
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued a warning as the monsoon weather system hits Sindh after wreaking havoc in Bangladesh and India. The CM visited Sujawal district to assess the situation and ensure preparedness for the impending storms.
Areas like Tharparkar, Karachi, Thatto, Sujawal, Badin, Umarkot, Sanghar, and Shaheed Benazirabad are at a higher risk due to heavy rainfall. The CM expressed concerns over the challenges in draining rainwater efficiently amidst continuous downpours.
Moreover, the government has taken proactive measures by initiating the construction of 2.1 million housing units to accommodate the 12 million people affected by the heavy rainfall and flooding in 2022. With two lakh houses already completed and six lakh more under construction, the authorities are working diligently to provide relief to the affected residents.
CM Murad Ali Shah, accompanied by provincial ministers, inspected various areas and assessed the water levels at Dolah Darya Khan Bridge over the Indus River. The government is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens during the challenging weather conditions.
