Russian Foreign Ministry announced the blacklisting of 92 American citizens, including journalists from major media outlets like Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Guardian, and Daily Telegraph. This action was a retaliation to the “blanket sanctions” imposed by the US on Russian politicians, businessmen, journalists, and cultural workers due to the Ukraine conflict.
The sanctions were deemed as a response to the anti-Russian stance of the Biden administration, with a goal to strategically defeat Moscow. The list comprises mostly government officials and executives from military industry companies. The Wall Street Journal’s editor-in-chief, Emma Tucker, and other journalists from leading liberal-globalist publications were also included for spreading fake news about Russia.
Moscow opened a criminal case against Western journalists who accompanied Ukrainian troops, emphasizing its stance against hostile actions from the US ruling elite. The Russian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to counter the American sanctions frenzy and punish those meddling in Russian affairs.
