The Mexican Navy recently made a major drug bust, seizing 7,200kg of drugs in two high-speed chases. Fifteen people were detained in connection with the bust, which is being called the largest during Mexico’s current administration. The drugs, believed to be cocaine, were intercepted off the coast of Mexico in the Pacific Ocean.
The first chase took place near the city of Manzanillo, while the second was near Lazaro Cardenas. Video footage released by the navy shows the dramatic operations unfolding as they worked to intercept the smuggling vessels. The bust highlights Mexico’s ongoing battle against drug trafficking and the efforts being made to combat organized crime in the region.
This significant seizure serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by authorities in combating the illegal drug trade. It also underscores the importance of international cooperation in addressing this issue. The Mexican Navy’s successful operation is a step towards disrupting criminal networks and keeping dangerous substances off the streets.
