Suspected Drug Use in Deadly Karachi Accident
Sindh Inspector General (IG) of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon revealed that the medical report of Natasha Danish, the driver involved in a fatal Karachi traffic accident, showed she was under the influence of methamphetamine. The accident on August 19 claimed the lives of Imran Arif and his daughter, with three others injured when Danish’s speeding Toyota Land Cruiser collided with multiple vehicles on Karsaz Road.
Following Danish’s arrest on manslaughter charges, the court ordered a 14-day judicial remand. IG Memon stated that additional sections would be added to the FIR based on the medical reports to guide the investigation further. Karachi Additional IG Javed Odho hinted at the findings of the report suggesting Danish should not have been driving.
The FIR filed by Imtiaz Arif cited sections of the Pakistan Penal Code related to negligent driving. The complaint detailed the tragic events leading to the deaths of Imran Arif and his daughter, Amna. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek opinions from medical experts to reach a final conclusion.
