Salah El-Hajj Hassan, FAO Representative in Iraq, emphasized the importance of safeguarding water resources and river ecosystems in the face of extreme heat waves and water scarcity. The initiative seeks to ease the burden on the environment, buffalo breeders, farmers, and fishermen affected by these challenges.
The ‘Water is Life’ campaign addresses Iraq’s water crisis by promoting awareness and responsibility among the population. By improving water management practices, a brighter and more sustainable future can be achieved for all Iraqis.
