The Edo State Ministry of Health recently kicked off a five-day training program for nurses working in Primary Health Centers across the state. The focus of the training was on Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC) to enhance reproductive health care services in the region.
Dr. Stanley Ehiarimwian, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, highlighted the importance of partnerships in delivering comprehensive healthcare services. He emphasized the need for ongoing monitoring and evaluation to measure the impact of the initiative on family planning services.
Representatives from the Federal Ministry of Health and DKT Nigeria International also commended the Edo State Government for its collaboration and support. DKT Nigeria International further announced a donation of 10,000 units of intrauterine devices (IUDs) to the state.
The participants, including nurses and health coordinators, expressed their gratitude for the training and pledged to utilize the knowledge gained to improve family planning services in their communities. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to empowering women in Edo State to make informed decisions about childbirth.
