Champai Soren to quit JMM, joins BJP for Jharkhand’s benefit

Published by

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has announced his decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the interest of the state. He expressed his determination by stating that he is not afraid of any situation. Soren recently met with Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and was greeted by a large number of supporters upon his return to Ranchi.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma alleged that Champai Soren was under surveillance by Jharkhand Police for the last five months. Despite this, Soren remains resolute in his decision to switch political allegiances.

Soren emphasized the need to preserve tribal identity and combat infiltration from Bangladesh in Jharkhand’s Santhal Pargana region. He believes that the BJP is the only party serious about addressing these critical issues, while others engage in vote bank politics.

Soren’s decision to join the BJP stems from feeling marginalized within his previous party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He seeks to continue advocating for the rights of tribals, natives, and marginalized communities in Jharkhand through this new political affiliation.
