CBI commences lie detector test on Kolkata Police ASI.

CBI commences lie detector test on Kolkata Police ASI.
The CBI has started conducting a polygraph test on Kolkata Police ASI Anup Dutta to uncover his alleged connections with Sanjay Roy, who was arrested in the brutal rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Dutta will be the eighth person to undergo this test in connection with the case.
The CBI is investigating if Roy informed Dutta about the crime he committed and if he sought any favors to cover it up. While the information from the polygraph test may not be admissible in court, it could help gather additional evidence. The test can reveal discrepancies in suspects’ and witnesses’ statements by monitoring their psychological responses, heart rate, breathing, sweating, and blood pressure.
The trainee doctor was assaulted in the hospital’s seminar hall during her shift in August. Roy was arrested based on CCTV footage, and further investigations uncovered recent injuries and collected biological samples. The probe was transferred to the CBI, which has since subjected several individuals to polygraph tests for leads on the crime.
This development has shed light on previously unknown aspects of the case, bringing investigators closer to solving the heinous crime.
