Recent heavy floods caused by torrential rains in Al-Mahwit province in northern Yemen have left at least 24 people missing and resulted in the destruction of seven homes and four shops in Melhan district, as reported by the Houthi group via Al-Masirah television.
Since July, flash floods from seasonal rains have led to numerous casualties and affected over 250,000 displaced individuals in Yemen, according to UN data. The country’s decade-long conflict between the Yemeni government and Iran-backed Houthis has severely impacted infrastructure, health facilities, and overall living conditions, creating a dire humanitarian situation.
