Russia launched a “massive” missile and drone attack on energy infrastructure across Ukraine, marking the biggest air assault in the ongoing conflict, killing at least seven people and causing power outages in cities.
Ukrainian Air Force Commander confirmed that Russia used over 100 missiles and drones in the attack, but Ukraine successfully intercepted a significant number of them.
The attacks targeted 15 regions, including the capital Kyiv, prompting Ukrainian President Zelensky to request allies to allow for long-range strikes into Russian territory.
Russia’s subsequent strikes on Tuesday led to more casualties in Ukraine, escalating tensions further.
Residents of Kyiv faced blackouts and air-raid alarms, highlighting the ongoing impact on civilians, including the struggle to maintain basic services like power and water.
