TRT Arabi Cameraman Injured in Israeli Shelling Attack in Gaza
A cameraman from TRT Arabi, the Arabic television channel of Turkish public broadcaster TRT, was injured on Monday in a shelling attack by the Israeli army in the southern Gaza Strip. Mohammad al-Zeineen sustained an eye injury from shrapnel when the army targeted a car near a journalists’ tent in Khan Younis.
This is not the first time TRT Arabi journalists have been attacked by Israeli forces. In April, another crew member, Sami Shehadeh, had his right leg amputated due to severe injuries sustained during an attack in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
Unfortunately, this recent incident adds to the growing number of casualties among journalists in Gaza. According to data from the Gaza government media office, a total of 171 journalists have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7.
