Syrian and Iraqi officials recently met to discuss the enhancement of agricultural relations between the two countries. Minister of Agriculture in Syria, Eng. Mohammad Hassan Qatana, along with a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture, delved into strategies to boost trade exchange and cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Syria, known for its export of various agricultural products to Iraq, aims to strengthen ties and promote collaboration in the industry. The focus was also on the quadripartite agreement involving Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, which aims to streamline trade processes, unify standards, and reduce barriers.
The Iraqi delegation acknowledged the historical ties between the two nations and expressed interest in implementing measures that would benefit both countries. The proposals discussed will be presented to the Iraqi Minister of Agriculture for further consideration.
The meeting emphasized the importance of fostering relationships and leveraging agreements to achieve mutual economic growth and development in the agricultural sector.
