Israeli Hostage Rescued from Gaza Tunnel
Farhan Alkadi, an Israeli hostage, was rescued from a Hamas tunnel in southern Gaza during an IDF operation. A team led by Shayetet 13 found him alone about 20 meters underground. Alkadi was weak and malnourished, confirming his Israeli identity to the soldiers.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Alkadi on his release, vowing to bring all hostages home. President Isaac Herzog and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant praised the operation’s success and IDF’s dedication.
Alkadi, reunited with his family, expressed gratitude to Israel for his rescue. He shared little about his ordeal in captivity, but his family reported a significant weight loss. Alkadi is undergoing medical evaluation while the IDF supports his family.
Alkadi’s rescue marks a significant victory in the ongoing efforts to bring all hostages home from Hamas captivity.
