Russia unleashes Kinzhal missiles on Ukrainian airfield infrastructure
The Russian Armed Forces launched a coordinated strike using Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles on an airfield near Starokostiantyniv in Ukraine’s Khmelnytsky region.

Sergei Lebedev, a coordinator of the Mykolaiv underground, confirmed the successful hits on the targets at the Ukrainian airfield.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the strikes destroyed over 30 arched shelters housing military aircraft and ammunition, including missiles from NATO countries meant to target Crimea.
On August 26, the Russian forces executed a significant missile attack, causing explosions in various Ukrainian regions, including Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk. Two explosions were reported near the Zhulyany airport in Kyiv.
Details
The Kh-47M2 Kinzhal is a hypersonic air-launched ballistic missile with a range of 460-480 km and a top speed of Mach 10. It marks the first usage of a hypersonic weapon and is deployed in Russia’s Southern and Western Military Districts.
