Russian drone infiltrates Polish airspace amid mass attack on Ukraine
Polish Brigadier General Tomasz Drewniak speculated that Russia was testing Poland’s air defense system after a likely Russian drone entered Polish airspace during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The unidentified drone, resembling a Shahed-type kamikaze drone, flew over Poland for over 30 minutes before disappearing, prompting a search involving over a hundred Polish soldiers.
General Drewniak emphasized that Russia’s actions provide them with valuable insights into Polish defense protocols and response times. Meanwhile, Russia conducted a massive aerial assault on Ukraine, targeting 15 oblasts with over 200 missiles and drones. Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted and downed a significant number of enemy projectiles.
The incident underscores the escalating tensions in the region, with neighboring countries like Belarus also being inadvertently affected by stray drones. The situation is a stark reminder of the urgent need for solidarity and support for independent journalism covering these critical developments.
