UNRWA officials in the Gaza Strip have reiterated the catastrophic situation in the besieged enclave saying the only certainty “is that tomorrow will be worse than today.”

UNRWA officials in Gaza report a devastating situation in the besieged enclave, with forced displacements leading to dire conditions for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.

Louise Wateridge, a Senior Communications Officer for UNRWA, described the current situation as catastrophic with families forced to move daily amidst minimal safety and access to resources.

Conditions in Gaza have drastically worsened, leading to overcrowded shelters, limited access to vehicles, and severe health risks including the reemergence of polio after 25 years.

‘Not Fit for Habitation’

UNRWA officials point out that the humanitarian zone in Gaza, declared by Israel, is shrinking, leaving residents in unfit living conditions, with limited access to basic services.

International efforts are underway to contain the polio outbreak, and calls for lifting the blockade and providing urgent aid to Gaza are intensifying amid staggering death tolls and ongoing Israeli aggression.
