Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Calls for Removal of Illegal Sanctions
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is determined to find ways to lift the illegal sanctions imposed on Iran. During a ceremony at the Foreign Ministry where the new foreign minister was introduced and honored, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of adhering to commitments and strengthening relations with neighboring countries to render sanctions ineffective.
Speaking at the event, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi outlined the ministry’s priorities, which include removing economic obstacles, upholding Iran’s honor and pride, and safeguarding national security. The president also reiterated the government’s focus on establishing relationships with countries in a manner that aligns with Iran’s best interests and the policies of the Islamic Revolution’s Leader.
In a meeting with Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of national unity and people’s satisfaction with government policies to counter oppressive sanctions from the US and EU. Araghchi expressed the government’s commitment to actively engage on the international stage and neutralize sanctions, as directed by the Leader. Prioritizing relationships with neighbors and expanding diplomatic efforts to Africa and East Asia are crucial components of Iran’s foreign policy strategy.
