Foreign Ministers of Iran and Venezuela Reaffirm Solid Partnership
The Foreign Ministers of Venezuela, Yván Gil, and Iran, Abbas Araghchi, recently reinforced their countries’ partnership through a telephone conversation, expressing their commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Gil stated on social media, “We reaffirmed the solid friendship between our countries and ratified the cooperation agreements in force with a view to exploring new areas. Araghchi also conveyed the Iranian government’s support to Venezuela amidst external aggressions aimed at destabilizing the country.”
Venezuela and Iran have a longstanding alliance focusing on areas such as tourism, food, defense, oil, gas, petrochemicals, science and technology, health, culture, and transport. In light of recent political events, Venezuela conducted a popular consultation to determine priority projects for national development, emphasizing citizen participation and direct democracy.
Over 27,000 projects were approved, covering essential sectors like water, housing, education, and public transport, reflecting the collective efforts of Venezuelan communes in advancing their communities.
