Canada’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Stefanie McCollum, has expressed approval of the Lebanese government’s new plan for stability in the south. She mentioned that the Lebanese Army (LAF) would be responsible for ensuring security in the region, emphasizing the support provided to the LAF for training and capacity building.
Regarding the reconstruction of towns in south Lebanon, McCollum stated that Canada looks forward to contributing as a top donor country to assist Lebanon in implementing reconstruction plans. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between Lebanon and donor countries for effective reconstruction efforts.
