Expanding Education Opportunities in Duqm

The Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) has seen a significant increase in student enrolment over the past five years, with a growth of 47.3% in general and basic education. This surge, from 1,181 students in 2018/2019 to over 1,740 in 2023/2024, can be attributed to the expanding investment opportunities and residential community in the area.

The opening of Al Saad International School in 2021 played a key role in this increase, welcoming students of various nationalities. Ahmed bin Ali Akaak, Acting CEO of SEZAD, anticipates further investments in the education sector to support the zone’s growing projects.

SEZAD is committed to providing services and facilities for a stable family life, attracting both citizens and expatriate workers. The zone currently boasts eight schools, including government and private institutions, catering to a diverse student population.

With Al Saad International School enrolling over 200 students and the Indian School Duqm serving the growing Indian community, Duqm is shaping up to be an increasingly attractive location for families looking for quality education and a modern living environment.
