The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has issued a warning to his former boss, Governor Godwin Obaseki, threatening to reveal alleged atrocities if the insults continue.
Shaibu, who recently switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC), made these remarks to journalists after attending Mass yesterday to kick off the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria in Auchi, Edo State.
He expressed his frustration with Governor Obaseki’s actions, accusing him of various misdeeds such as fighting the church, engaging in corrupt practices, and disregarding the rule of law.
Shaibu called for accountability and urged religious leaders to remove unearned divine titles from political officeholders, including Obaseki. He criticized the governor’s leadership style and urged the people to resist political influence from religious bodies.
