The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum has raised concerns about transparency in revenue allocation between the federal, state, and local governments in Nigeria. At their monthly meeting in Jalingo, the governors called for the strict adherence to constitutional principles in revenue sharing among the tiers of government.
The forum criticized the Accountant General of the Federation for bias towards the Federal Government and advocated for separation of the roles of the Accountant General of the Federation and the Federal Government. They also commended the peaceful handling of the #EndBadGovernance protests and urged fair trials for those arrested.
The governors denounced the Federal Government for using blackmail instead of addressing economic and social issues and called on President Tinubu to refrain from bias in the Edo State governorship election. They reaffirmed support for Governor Wike in the political impasse in Rivers State.
