Amman – Minister of Investment, Kholoud Saqqaf, highlighted the importance of the Investment Environment Law in promoting equality and fairness for women in the investment sector. Speaking at a dialogue seminar organized by the Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women, Saqqaf emphasized the inclusion of women in the Investment Council and the equal opportunities provided to them.
The seminar focused on key sectors like agriculture, cosmetics, and creative industries, aiming to empower women and build sustainable economies. Saqqaf mentioned that the law offers incentives for projects led by Jordanian women, especially in underdeveloped areas, to increase their participation in the market.
Reflecting on government reforms, Saqqaf highlighted the efforts to improve the investment climate and integrate Jordan into global markets. South African Ambassador, Tselane Mokuena, emphasized the need for environments that support women’s leadership and economic independence.
The symposium was praised by Reem Baghdadi, President of the Jordanian Business and Professional Women Forum, for fostering cooperation between Jordan and South Africa. Participants called for collaboration among sectors to create a conducive environment for women in business.
