Eni, along with its partners ExxonMobil, CNPC, GALP, KOGAS, and ENH, has reached a significant milestone in Mozambique. The Coral Sul FLNG, located in the Rovuma Basin, has achieved the production of 5 million tons of LNG since October 2022.
This accomplishment marks a major contribution to Mozambique’s economy, with the export of 70 LNG cargos and 10 condensate cargos. It establishes Mozambique as a key player in the global LNG market, paving the way for sustainable energy development and economic growth.
Marica Calabrese, Managing Director of Eni Rovuma Basin, expressed pride in this achievement and reaffirmed the commitment to maximizing Mozambique’s gas resources. The Coral Sul FLNG, with a capacity of 3.4 MTPA, will continue producing gas from the Rovuma Basin to meet global demands efficiently.
This project sets industry standards as the first floating LNG facility in deep African waters. It highlights innovation, energy efficiency, and support for Mozambique’s evolution through gas resource utilization.
