Most people infected with West Nile virus may not show symptoms, but around one in five develop symptoms, according to the CDC. The virus is spread through mosquito bites from infected birds to humans. Currently, there is no vaccine for the virus, which can be fatal in rare cases.
Despite retiring from public service in 2022, Fauci continues to face challenges, including death threats, requiring round-the-clock security.
