Lebanon’s caretaker Economy Minister, Amin Salam, expressed cautious optimism after an emergency government meeting regarding the de-escalation between Israel and Hezbollah. Both sides reported the end of expected operations after a heavy exchange of hostilities, with Hezbollah launching rockets and drones at Israel to avenge the assassination of its military chief.
Hezbollah claimed to have fired 320 rockets, while Israel stated it successfully intercepted most of the attacks. Despite conflicting reports on whether an intelligence base near Tel Aviv was targeted, tensions seem to have eased slightly following the intense confrontation.
