Police in Kaduna intercept kidnapping, nab cattle rustlers

Security operatives in Kaduna State successfully thwarted a kidnap attempt and apprehended two cattle rustlers and gun runners, ensuring the safety of a victim threatened by terrorists demanding a ransom of N10 million.

The police spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, disclosed that timely action by the Tracking and Response Team led to the arrest of Umar Baso, Shehu Filani, Babangida Abdulkarim, Aminu Saleh, and Jafar Ibrahim, who confessed to their involvement in criminal activities.

Another successful raid was carried out on a syndicate involved in cattle rustling in the Kasuwan Magani area, resulting in the arrest of Aminu Saleh and Jafar Ibrahim.

The swift actions of the police also led to the arrest of two suspects supplying arms and ammunition to kidnappers across Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara States, further enhancing security in the region.

Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Ali Dabigi, urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, emphasizing the commitment of the command to dismantle criminal networks and ensure the safety of all residents.
