Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah recently addressed the public following a fierce exchange of fire between the Lebanese group and Israel. The attack was in retaliation to the Israeli assassination of senior commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut.
Nasrallah emphasized Hezbollah’s desire to avoid further military escalation, signaling that the recent attack was a calculated move to restore deterrence. The main target of the assault was the Glilot base, home to Israeli intelligence services.
The delay in the attack was attributed to various factors, including preparations, fear tactics, and ongoing Gaza ceasefire discussions. Nasrallah debunked Israeli claims of preemptive knowledge, asserting the attack’s success in striking deep into Israeli territory.
Hezbollah’s leader also clarified that civilian areas were deliberately avoided to protect innocent lives. Nasrallah’s speech aimed to dispel Israeli narratives and reassure Lebanon of a temporary respite from the looming threat of all-out war.
