Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared on Sunday that the group would evaluate the aftermath of its rocket and drone strike on Israeli military targets before deciding on future retaliatory actions for a fallen commander.
In a televised address, Nasrallah affirmed that the attack was executed according to plan, refuting Israeli claims of thwarting a broader assault with pre-emptive strikes.
Contrary to Israeli assertions, Nasrallah clarified the group had no intentions of targeting sites in Tel Aviv, emphasizing their focus on a military intelligence base near the city.
Hezbollah’s deliberate choice to strike a military installation over civilian zones or infrastructure underscores their strategic restraint in response to the assassination of Fuad Shukr. Nasrallah also asserted that their precision and strategic missile capabilities remain intact despite Israeli attacks, hinting at potential future use.
The Litani river
Nasrallah disclosed that Hezbollah deployed drones from both sides of the Litani River, infringing upon UN Security Council Resolution 1701 boundaries established after the 2006 Lebanon War.
