Israel stages airstrikes in Lebanon as Hezbollah launches drone attack on Israel

Israel launched airstrikes in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah, risking a broader regional war amid efforts to cease-fire in Gaza. Hezbollah planned a missile attack in retaliation for the killing of a top commander. Air raid sirens blared, and flights at Ben-Gurion airport were diverted. Hezbollah launched drones at Israel, targeting military sites and Iron Dome platforms.

Egypt hosted talks to end the conflict with Hamas as Israel prepared for fighting with Hezbollah. Israeli military struck Hezbollah targets to prevent attacks on civilians. Lebanon reported airstrikes in the south, and flights were canceled in Israel. The ongoing conflict between Israel, Hezbollah, and Hamas displaced thousands and raised fears of all-out war.

Hezbollah, stronger than Hamas, possesses a vast arsenal of missiles and drones. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu coordinated the operation from Tel Aviv. The Security Cabinet convened to address the escalating tensions.
