Is SSPDF a lethal force targeting South Sudanese?

The Horrors of South Sudan: A Perspective by Koka Lo’Lado

South Sudan has undeniably become a vampire state, plagued by killings, looting, rape, and other atrocities committed by the South Sudanese People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF). These acts of violence are perpetrated by an unorganized armed force, instigated by inept and devious leaders.

Recently, a student returning home from school in Ethiopia was shot by SSPDF soldiers, sparking a violent clash that resulted in casualties on both sides. These incidents are just a glimpse of the numerous heinous acts committed by the SSPDF against civilians.

The lack of accountability within the SSPDF has led to a culture of impunity, where soldiers engage in criminal activities such as land grabbing, extortion, and even murder without consequences. The civilian population is left vulnerable and fearful of their supposed protectors.

To address these issues, there is a pressing need to reform the SSPDF and instill a sense of discipline and accountability within the ranks. Civil-military relations must be improved, and offenders should be held accountable through a fair and transparent justice system. Only then can South Sudan move towards a future free from violence and fear.

The road ahead may be long and arduous, but it is not without hope. Together, the people of South Sudan can demand justice and accountability from their leaders, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
