The Hawks have been making significant progress in apprehending individuals involved in high-profile cases, with Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal leading in arrests for serious crimes during the first quarter of 2024/2025.

The head of the Hawks, Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya, reported that the unit had arrested a total of 673 individuals involved in serious corruption, fraud, and other crimes. Majority of these arrests were in Gauteng, followed by KZN.
Lebeya also mentioned that the Hawks had seized 68 firearms, 1,797 rounds of ammunition, and shut down three illegal drug labs in Gauteng amounting to R16,179,300 in value. In addition, the unit secured 506 convictions during the same period.
