Remembering a Hero: First Sgt. David Moshe Ben Shitrit

Tragedy struck the IDF as they announced the loss of First Sgt. David Moshe Ben Shitrit, a 20-year-old soldier from the West Bank settlement of Geva Binyamin, in a battle against Hezbollah. He was hit by shrapnel from an intercept missile that mistakenly targeted their naval vessel, resulting in his untimely death.

He leaves behind grieving parents and three sisters, adding to the recent loss of another soldier from the same settlement. The community mourns the loss of these brave souls who paid the ultimate price for their country.

Despite the sorrow, there is a sense of unity and strength among the residents. Israel Gantz, head of the Binyamin Regional Council, expressed his condolences and solidarity with the family, emphasizing the resilience of the Israeli people in the face of adversity.

Ben Shitrit’s friend, Harel, fondly remembers him as a true hero and a loyal companion. The navy vessel, damaged in the incident, will soon be repaired and back on duty, continuing to protect Israel from threats like Hezbollah’s drones.
