34 dead in two Pakistan bus accidents

Tragedy struck in Pakistan as 34 people lost their lives in two separate bus accidents on Sunday. Among the casualties were 12 individuals attempting to reach Iran. In Punjab, 22 people died when their bus plunged into a ravine near Azad Pattan, while 12 men perished in a crash on the Makran Coastal Highway in Balochistan.

The treacherous road conditions, overspeeding, and lack of safety measures were contributing factors to these accidents. The victims were on their way to participate in the Shiite ritual of Arbaeen but were turned back at the Iran border due to document issues. This incident highlights the dangers faced on Pakistani roads due to poor infrastructure and driver training.

In a separate incident, 28 Pakistani visitors perished in a bus crash in Iran while en route to Iraq for the Arbaeen commemoration. As the nation mourns these tragic losses, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and stringent regulations to prevent such incidents in the future.
