The US Department of State has approved a potential sale of advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles to Norway for approximately $405 million, as announced by the Pentagon. The sale aims to enhance Norway’s ability to address current and future threats by upgrading its Air Intercept Missile 120B (AIM-120B) AMRAAMs with the more advanced AMRAAM-ER.
The Pentagon emphasized that the proposed sale, including equipment and support, will not disrupt the military balance in the region. RTX Corporation, based in Tucson, Arizona, will serve as the principal contractor for this project. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has officially notified Congress about this possible sale on Thursday.
