UNFPA urges Bauchi on youth development in the SDGs

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) are urging the Bauchi State Government to create a supportive environment for youths through youth-friendly policies. The call came during a program marking International Youth Day, organized by the SDGs Office in Bauchi in partnership with UNFPA.

Director General of SDGs, Lydia Shehu emphasized the importance of directing government activities towards achieving the 17 SDGs. She highlighted the crucial role of government investment in youths in reaching the 2030 goals. The theme for this year, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathway for Sustainable Development,” underscores the need for investing in youth potential.

UNFPA Coordinator in Bauchi, Deborah Tabara, emphasized the power of young people in shaping a more just and peaceful world, especially in the digital realm. The event was attended by government officials, including commissioners for Budget and Multilateral Coordination, Education, and Information.
